Presenting Jackie Traverse’s “Heal”.
An MMIW (missing and murdered Indigenous women) Tribute Painting made into fabric.
Siltex and Jackie Traverse will collaborate to donate a portion of the proceeds of this fabric to the Ikwe Wijjitiwin, an Indigenous women’s shelter.
“This MMIWG2S tribute painting is about healing, titled “Heal”. The woman is wearing the red dress which has become a symbol of our MMIWG2S. Tears flow from her eyes and beautiful flowers grow in memorial to our women. The flowers represent growth, change, and the beauty of Indigenous women. She is crying and catching her own tears. Her tears transform into butterfly spirits that fly away.”
